About

Meet Sabrina

Empathetic, goal-oriented nutrition support grounded in evidence-based practice.

I'm a Registered Dietitian with a lifelong love of sport, movement, food, and helping people feel their best.

Sport has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up as a competitive figure skater before transitioning to dragon boat, where I competed at the national level. These days, you'll usually find me playing tennis recreationally, and when winter rolls around, I love getting outside to ski and snowboard.

Growing up in competitive sport shaped my curiosity about how nutrition affects performance, recovery, and our relationship with food. Sport taught me firsthand that what we eat can influence how we perform, recover, and feel — but my education and clinical experiences have also taught me that nutrition is much bigger than what's on our plate.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies at Western University before earning my Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition and Food from Toronto Metropolitan University. I then completed my dietetic training at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where I gained experience across clinical nutrition, food service, and patient-centred care.

Through these experiences, I developed an approach to nutrition that is evidence-based, practical, and individualized. I believe good nutrition shouldn't require perfection, restriction, or completely changing your life. Instead, I want to help you understand the why behind nutrition and translate the science into realistic strategies that actually work for you.

I also believe that food is more than nutrients. It's culture, connection, tradition, enjoyment, and an important part of our everyday lives. My goal is to help you find an approach to nutrition that supports your health and goals while still leaving room for the foods and experiences you love.

When I'm not talking about nutrition, you'll usually find me finding a way to stay active — whether that's tennis, golf, skiing, snowboarding, or trying something new.

My approach

How I work with you

Good nutrition shouldn't require perfection or restriction. Here's what guides the way we work together.

01

Evidence-based

Nutrition can be confusing. My recommendations are grounded in current nutrition science — not trends, fads, or quick fixes.

02

Personalized

There's no one-size-fits-all approach. Your health, goals, lifestyle, culture, food preferences, and routines all shape the plan we build together.

03

Practical

Advice only works if it fits your life. We'll focus on realistic strategies you can actually use beyond our appointments.

04

Flexible & enjoyable

Food is more than nutrients. Healthy eating can support your goals while still leaving room for enjoyment, flexibility, and the foods you love.

05

Culturally inclusive

Healthy eating shouldn't mean giving up the foods you grew up with or the traditions that matter to you. We'll work with the foods you know and enjoy.

Nutrition counselling is available fully in both English & Cantonese.

Services

How I can help

Nutrition isn't one-size-fits-all. Whether you're managing a health condition, navigating digestive symptoms, training toward a performance goal, or simply trying to feel better day to day, we'll build an approach that works for your health, lifestyle, culture, and preferences.

Digestive Health

Find a way of eating that supports your digestive health without unnecessary restriction. I can help you navigate concerns such as IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, bloating, food intolerances, and other digestive symptoms.

Metabolic & Heart Health

Use nutrition to confidently manage your health while still enjoying the foods you love. Support is available for diabetes and prediabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, and other cardiometabolic concerns.

Sports & Active Living

Fuel the activities you love. Whether you're training competitively or simply want to feel stronger and more energized in everyday life, I can help with fuelling, recovery, hydration, performance nutrition, and building an eating routine that works around your training and lifestyle.

Looking for something else?

I also provide nutrition counselling for a variety of other health and nutrition concerns. If you don't see what you're looking for, book a complimentary 15-minute consultation and we can determine whether we're a good fit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is needed to book. Some extended health plans do ask for one before they'll reimburse dietitian services, so it's worth checking your plan.
How does direct billing work?
I direct bill to most insurance providers, so in many cases you'll only pay any portion your plan doesn't cover. If your provider can't be billed directly, I'll give you a receipt to submit for reimbursement. Coverage varies between plans — it's a good idea to confirm your Registered Dietitian (RD) benefits with your insurer.
Which insurance providers do you direct bill?
I'm able to direct bill to most major insurers, including:
Canada LifeChambers of CommerceCowanDesjardins InsuranceEmpire LifeGreen Shield CanadaGroupHEALTHGroupSourceIndustrial AllianceJohnston Group Inc.ManulifeMaximum BenefitMedavie Blue CrossOntario Blue CrossSimply BenefitsSun Life
This list isn't comprehensive — I may be able to direct bill other providers too. Not sure about yours? Just ask and I'll check.
What's the complimentary consult?
A free, no-pressure 15-minute call to talk through what you're looking for and see whether we're a good fit — before you book a paid session.
Are appointments virtual?
Yes — all sessions are virtual. Once your appointment is confirmed, you'll receive a calendar invite with a secure meeting link. You can join from anywhere private and comfortable.
What happens in the first appointment?
The initial assessment (60 minutes) is required for all first-time clients. We go through your health, food, and nutrition history, any relevant labs, and your goals — then start building a personalized plan together.
How often will I need follow-ups?
It depends on what we're working on. Some goals benefit from frequent check-ins, others need less. I'll recommend a follow-up length and cadence, and we'll adjust as you progress.
Is my personal health information private?
Yes. Your personal health information is collected, used, and stored in accordance with Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). It's kept confidential and used only to provide your care.
